The RIBSA Ladies Senior series began in Q’s Snooker Club in Clondalk in Dublin on Sunday the 2nd f October. In the final Paula Judge and Michelle Sherwin faced off in the final which was a repeat of their National Ladies Final last May.
Paula had an excellent 36 in the first frame but Michelle came back into the frame, but missed the blue to give Paula the first frame.
The second frame was close throughout and towards the end of the second frame, Michelle indicated to the referee that she would be withdrawing from the match at the end of the frame, due to ill health. Paula cleared blue to black to win the frame, with a lovely treble on the blue, and a fantastic black down the cushion to 2-0 up and with the match conceded, Michelle congratulated Paula on her first ranking win.
Paula 71 Break
A huge congratulations and big shout out goes to Paula Judge, who in her 2nd frame in her round-robin match against Claire Mill, had a magnificent 71 break, made all the better by the pink that she potted after the first red. Paula was stuck to the top cushion, and was left with a very difficult cut into the middle on the pink or an easy safety; she took the pink on and the rest was history; she never looked like missing and it was truly lovely to watch.
WELL DONE PAULA!!!
Best of luck goes out to Paula and Ronda who are off to Leeds to play in the World Ladies tournament next week. Kick ass girls!!!
RIBSA would like to thank Q’s Dublin for hosting the event and Congratulate Ronda on her win.
RIBSA ladies would like to invite any lady player to the next ranking event on the 6th of November in Newbridge or to the RIBSA Ladies Promotion day on Sunday 23rd of October in the Ivy Rooms Carlow with World Snooker Coach PJ Nolan.
