The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association held another successful promotion day for women in sport on Sunday the 31st of January in the Ivy Rooms in Carlow. RIBSA is the only official Ladies Snooker Association in Ireland and the goal for the season is to promote and grow the game in Ireland.
RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy announced today that Michelle Sherwin will be apointed the new RIBSA Ladies National Snooker Coach and this is hoped to promote the game more.
A new RIBSA ladies facebook page has been created and will provide information on events and news throughout the season. One more RIBSA lady promotion days will be held later in the season.
Our National Coach PJ Nolan was in attendance for advice, instructions and encouragement for all who attended. The players recieved new training booklets and they practiced various practice routines.
All standards are welcome to attend any ladies RIBSA event as two events are held on the same day with an Intermediate level and senior level tournament.
Finally RIBSA ladies were sad to hear today that Grace Park will be returning to Korea and all the girls would like to wish her the best of luck and she will be sadly missed.
