The Eastern Region Intermediate NO.3 event of the season was played on Saturday 14 December at Celbridge snooker Club. The tournament was won by the 2012 Intermediate champion Andrew Yeates from Navan. In his semi-final Andrew defeated Martin Thorpe from Newbridge CYMS by 3 frames to 2 in what was always going to be a close affair. The second semi-final was contested between Gary Ryan from Celbridge snooker Club and Robert Moynihan from Dublin with Robert winning on a 3 – 1 scoreline.
The final also went to the wire and was in doubt throughout but in the end Andrew's greater experience prevailed as he won by 3 frames to 2
The high break Prize was won by Jim Carrick with a 70 in his second round match.
On behalf of RIBSA Tournament Director Tony Thorpe thanked all the players for supporting the event on what was a dreadful day. He thanked Phil Martin and his staff for their help and hospitality once again.
